The International FAREAST 28R Class Association and Kieler Yacht-Club has closely monitored the worldwide developments for the COVID-19 pandemic over the last weeks.
As several countries now have open the boarders within Europe, but with different restrictions for EC citizens and non-Schengen members, it is impossible to foresee the situation in August. And the combination with safe travel into Europe from other continents, makes it even harder to plan for a successful event.
Further, the restrictions has varied across the world— so it is impossible to assure that every Class member should have a fair chance to prepare for the commitment of a World Championship in August 2020.
Therefore, during a joint meeting today, the organizing parties has decided to postpone the FAREAST 28R World Championship to 2021!
The International FAREAST 28R Class Association and Kieler Yacht-Club are now working together to find new dates for 2021. The Kieler Yacht-Club will contact the sailors already signed up for the World in order to refund their entry fee.
// Best regards and safe winds 2020!
